The Latin American University of science and technology or (Universidad Latino Americana de ciencias y tecnología, ULACIT) was founded in 1991. It is a private university in Panama.

It offers bachelor degrees and master degrees. There are 22 bachelor degrees related with engineering, health, law, Tourism, business and Communication and 12 master degrees in the field of business, health and law.

It seems that they don’t use distance learning, but they offer several tools and services for blended learning, this tools can help to develop a new strategy to the university, entering in the market niche of the distance learning, it helps that is an institution related to sciences and technology.

The tools that they offer are:

  • Virtual Classroom
  • Video Conferencing
  • Digital library (e-books)


In 2004 it joined the Laureate Education association.
