The Almaty Technological University supports distance education.

The university is based in Kazakhstan. It hosts an Institute of Correspondence and Distant Education, founded in May 1957. The institute participates in research and provides various services.

Correspondence courses include topics such as: decorating and modeling textile and light industry products; chemical technology of organic substances and materials, standardization and certification; information systems in technique and technologies; personal services and service; state and local management; and general management.

Technology is in use to support distance education.
