The Tehran Virtual University is the virtual campus of a traditional university, the University of Tehran. It is also known as the University of Tehran e-Learning Campus.

Considered a pioneering higher education institute in Iran, the University of Tehran established its Center for e-Learning in 2001. Through its "Virtual University" it was the first university in Iran to approach advanced communications technology and the Internet as integral to its teaching.
